CBL Makes Annual Donation to Fund that benefits Catholic School Scholarships

In the Diocese of Nashville January is traditionally “Catholic Schools Month”.  Many schools have their open houses for what will hopefully be new students in the Fall.  The Bishop celebrates an “all schools Mass” with attendees for each school participating.  The Diocesan newspaper, the Tennessee Register, focuses an entire issue to the topic as well in a January issue.

The Catholic Business League used January as well this year to show our love and support for Catholic Schools.  At our recent prayer breakfast we awarded $5500 to the EACS Foundation.  The Endowment For the Advancement of Catholic Schools funds scholarships for those families that are most in need and, without help, would not be able to have their children attend.  Over the past 5 years the EACS Foundation has received over $20,000 from the CBL in support of their mission.

Therese Williams accepts the award from CBL President, Mike Lalonde

The award was accepted by the Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese, Dr. Therese Williams.  That was preceded by a moving talk from the Principal of Holy Rosary Academy, Dr. Betty Reynolds.  She shared some real stories of families at their school who could not attend without the help from the EACS foundation.
