Scott Mertie, local author, beer historian, and owner of the Nashville Brewing Company, will be discussing the history of beer and Catholicism.

The meeting will begin at 7:50am on Thursday, February 11. You may use this Zoom link to join the meeting at that time. 

He will cover such topics as beer before biblical times, monastery brews, Patron Saints of beer, and how the Church influenced modern beer styles.

Scott is also a member at KraftCPAs where he leads the healthcare consulting practice.  He speaks locally and nationally on the two topics he knows best: beer and healthcare (he previously spoke to the CBL in 2015 on the Healthcare System in Cuba).

In addition to being a member of the CBL, Scott is also a board member of the Saint Thomas Health Foundation and the Nashville Health Care Council. Scott and his wife attend Holy Family Catholic Church in Brentwood.
