It was a packed house on Thursday morning, October 14, as Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner Beth DeBauche spoke to the Catholic Business League and engaged the whole room with a myriad of details and stories that only a college sports commissioner could know.
Beth has been at the helm of the OVC since 2019, and the conference is currently in an expansion mode, seeking to add new members and grow its platform. A conference led by the Presidents of the universities that comprise it, the OVC is unique in this regard.
Beth is a native of Green Bay, WI and an alumna of Notre Dame, a school that she was drawn to attending not only for its stellar academic reputation but also for its competitive and passionate sports program.
A communicant of Christ the King, Beth sees a parallel between her work as a college sports commissioner and her faith. When asked about how her faith influences her work, she says that she sees being a college sports administrator as a service profession, needing to look out for the needs of not only student-athletes, but other individuals involved in these vast and ever-changing programs.
Thank you to Beth for taking time out of your busy day to join us!
