Our sincerest thanks to Lt. Col. Kirsten McFarland – not only for her service to our nation, but also for sharing plenty of insight on recruiting for the US Army!
Lt. Col. McFarland pointed to two main challenges faced in recruiting: a small percentage of the population being eligible to serve, and the effects of the pandemic on candidates’ educational background.
She pointed out that those difficulties do not deter the Army’s efforts to bridge the gaps and meet candidates where they are, especially by making our population more aware of open positions and providing educational and testing support — through programs like March2Success — to aid potential candidates as they move through the recruitment process.
Thanks to all who attended this week’s meeting, and we look forward to seeing you on June 13 for our next Breakfast Meeting!
